25 June 2004 Alex Watt set a new TEAM RECORD with a blazing 11-12 Girls 50m Breaststroke of 38.95 during Time Trials on 19 June 2004. Alex pushed the limit and knocked off an 11-year old mark set by Anne Chapman of 39.04 in 1993. Awesome swim ALEX!
2 July 2004 Mike Stablein had an awesome swim in the 11-12 Boys 50m Butterfly with a 42.03 and a 2nd place finish during the Canterbury Woods meet 26 June 2004. Although Mike DQ'd in his Fly swim at Time Trials, he put that behind him at the meet and ripped off on amazing swim and dropped an unreal 19 seconds in the Fly! Great work Mike!
9 July 2004 Taylor Whitesel has made incredible progress by continuing to drop time with every swim and has amassed 32 seconds in total dropped time from 25 Free and 25 Back combined. Taylor leads the team with 37% improvement since time trials. Awesome performance Taylor!
16 July 2004 The Swim of the Week this week goes to all Wahoo Relay Carnival Teams! The Wahoos captured the Relay Carnival Championship for the first time in a number of years. The team received a beautiful NVSL trophy, which is on display at the guard desk at the pool. Great teamwork Wahoos!
23 July 2004 Our 11-12 Girls Medley Relay Team: Allison Ratliff, Alex Watt, Carolyn Girondo and Molly Smith dropped 2 seconds off their seed-time for a 1:08.85 finish at the All-Star Relays at Greenbriar on 21 July 2004. Way to go girls!
30 July 2004 The Swim of the Week this week goes to our "Funnel Relay" team of Chamberlin, Faber, Dougherty and Smith who turned in an All-Star performance producing 150+ Funnel Cakes during the Super Sprint meet. Swimming (in batter) the final leg of the relay, Diane Smith had to leave the meet to make more batter for the hungry Wahoo Fans. I am told they were followed closely by "Imaginary Drinking Relay" of Oppler, McEntire, Rushton and Lepley whose performance was amazing as always. A huge THANK YOU for your efforts and all who have made the Wahoo Café a great success this summer.
